Music Count Us In 2010
Simon Paul recorded and mixed the 2010 songs for Music Count Us In. The songs were written by students, work shopped by industry mentors and produced by renowned Music Director, Composer and Performer, John Foreman.
The featured song was sung by the talented Bobby Andonov, a finalist in Channel 7’s – Australia’s Got Talent.
“It’s Australia’s biggest school music initiative. With support from The Australian Government, it has run since 2007 and is all about celebrating the value of music education to students’ development, whoever they are, wherever they are. It involves about half a million students, teachers – and often parents! – from schools all over Australia signing up to learn, rehearse then perform the same song, on the same day, at the same time. ” – Music Count Us In Website
Free Samples and Audio Production Resources
I have had the intention of adding information and techniques for mixing and producing audio to this site for some time. To start with, I have created to reference charts and created some drum samples.
The charts are for converting musical notes to frequencies, and BPMs to Milliseconds. There are also drum samples from two drum kits available for download. The first is a vintage Slingerland kit (The one Travis Demsey played on my album For Broken Hearts & Lovers, and the other a kit I recorded recently for a client’s record… I didn’t think to check remember the brand though!)
You can view the Audio Production Resources page here.

Music Industry Showcase Finalists, 2009

Simon Paul and band performed at The Melbourne Fresh Industry Showcase semi-finals on Tuesday 10th November. Their performance was impressive enough to present them with the opportunity to perform in the finals, in December 2009*.
*Due to band members being overseas in December, Simon’s performance will be postponed until the finals of the first 2010 Showcase.
